Installation oversight and certification
Installation by a registered installer, arranged through PRWS or hired by you. Inspections, commissioning, an as-built plan and the Letter of Certification your occupancy permit needs.
How installation works →
Each paid step comes off the next: the report comes off the on-site assessment when it is booked within 30 days, and the assessment comes off the design. Go the whole way and you pay no more than the design.

Jordan Huscroft, P.Geo.
Professional Geoscientist registered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, with a master's in Integrated Water Resource Management from McGill, EOCP small wastewater systems operator certification, EQUIP septic design training and a decade in environmental consulting before founding the practice. Groundwater and how water moves through ground is the science an onsite system depends on — it is also the discipline a P.Geo. practises.

Five questions, answered first
Do I need a P.Geo. or a ROWP?
A ROWP designs within the prescriptive Standard Practice Manual for flows under 9,100 L/day. A P.Geo. or P.Eng. can depart from it on evidence — shallow soil over bedrock, high water tables, reduced setbacks — and design up to 22,700 L/day. Difficult sites and commercial flows need the professional.

The design package and Island Health filing typically take one to two weeks after the site visit. Covenant removals run 5–10 weeks end to end, including Land Title registration.

A residential design from PRWS starts at $3,490 CAD for SPM-compliant residential systems, subject to exclusions, covering research through to the Letter of Certification. Installation is priced separately once the design is done, commonly $20,000 to $55,000 depending on system type.

Yes, as part of the same job if you want it. Take the design on its own and hire your own installer, or have PRWS arrange installation with registered installers I work with regularly. Either way I oversee and certify the work, so you deal with one person from the first site visit to the Letter of Certification.
